The Party’s Over
So on 90210 this week, the episode starts right where it left off last week, with Naomi and Annie fighting on the doorstep outside of Annie’s Sweet 16 party. Sean - the child of Harry and Tracy - shows up and introduces himself. It’s kinda awkward with them all sitting around talking to Sean, but it gets even worse when Tracy shows up and starts calling him “my son.” She and Naomi are so irritatingly annoying this ep.
Dixon is getting more and more upset about Sean being there, because he feels like Harry is connecting with his “real” son. It comes to a head at a regional soccer match, when Dixon is playing really badly and Harry pulls him out of the game. Dixon tells him off, and then heads to the locker room to cool down. Harry follows him in there. (Which did seem a little strange, I mean, can the coach just leave in the middle of the championship game and go hang out in the locker room?) But anyway, Dixon tells him how he feels, Harry apologizes and everyone is happy. There is also some discussion about Dixon finding his roots. Oh, and there is a cute little cheerleader who’s trying to flirt with Dixon. It’s very discreet, but I sense trouble to come.
Annie has apparently taken a drink from the nasty cup, because she basically tells Naomi off at every opportunity. She’s totally not acting like herself, but is actually acting more like Naomi. It’s pretty clear that Ethan is less than impressed. She does finally come to her senses and realizes that she is being a first class biatch and that’s not her at all. She has a little heart to heart with Silver and says she wants to be the person she used to be, who didn’t worry about what clothes she wore and wasn’t mean to people.
Naomi, meanwhile, has made friends with the blendees, or something like that, chicks who only drink blendees (probably smoothees?) twice a day. At first they put her through some hoops to let her hang with them, since she’s younger. They make her get them a table for dinner at a very exclusive restaurant. Of course, the key to this is Ozzie, who she asks to get the table for her. He does so, but at first he makes her sweat a little, and tells her she will owe him. Then, the next day at the game, he tells her that she owes him a kiss. So she kisses him and it’s quite nice. But then he tells her he wants her to kiss the school mascot, a Wildcat (interestingly, just like High School Musical). So she does that, only to have the mascot remove its head and turn out to be Annie.
Kelly tries some counseling to get Annie and Naomi together, but it doesn’t go well. Then she
goes to lunch with Brenda, who tells Kelly she doesn’t want to be friends anymore. But when Brenda has an accident, Kelly is listed as the person to call. When Kelly shows up at the hospital, Brenda tells her the truth, not that she doesn’t want to be friends, but she was trying to push Kelly away because she had slept with Ryan.
There wasn’t too much going on with Silver or Adrianna this week, and Navid was missing completely. Adrianna does get sick and throws up at the game - when she smells a hot dog - which makes me wonder what exactly is wrong with her.
At the very end, Sean, who has been staying with Tracy, has said he will leave, cause he thinks he may be overstaying his welcome, but then Harry and Debbie invite him to come stay with them for a while and he accepts. The final scene is Sean on the phone with someone telling them that he is making himself right at home. It doesn’t sound like a good thing.
The bad news is we’re going to have to wait until next year to find out what happens. The next new ep airs on January 6, 2009.
