Supernaturally Gross
“Well, that’s gonna be . . . horrible.” Dean’s quote pretty much sums up Thursday’s episode of Supernatural. No, wait, the episode was good, but it was also pretty gross and horrible. Dean did have some great lines, but when doesn’t he.
The point of the ep was Dean finding out that Sam has been lying to him about using his powers. Sam seems to want to help people more than he wants to kill demons, which sounds good on paper, but can end up getting people hurt or dead. Which they find out when an old hunter friend, Travis, calls them to his town to help fill a rugaru (I’m not sure of the spelling, but that’s what it sounded like). This creature comes out when a person is about 30 years old (apparently) and runs in families. The rugaru they are after is just a nice suburban kinda guy, with a lovely wife and a nice home. He starts getting really hungry. Then he starts eating wrong stuff, like raw hamburger.
From there, it isn’t too long before he wants to take a little nip from a human. At first, the Winchester boys try to talk to him, it being Sam’s thought that they might reason with him and explain what’s happening to him. If they can do that, maybe he can stop himself from eating a person or as Dean calls it “manburger helper.” Instead, the guy gets angry and orders them off his property. (”Good talk” says Dean as they walk away.)
Well, Travis, feeling like the Winchesters aren’t as much help as he’d hoped for, decides to just take matters into his own hands. He killed this rugaru’s father, so he can kill this one. But then he finds out that the guy’s wife is pregnant. Now he has to kill them both, but he doesn’t get the chance. The guy attacks and kills Travis, and then goes for his wife. SHe’s been tied to a chair this whole time, but suddenly she manages to break free (conveniently) and she runs out the door into the car and takes off.
Sam and Dean get there, just after the knick of time and find what’s left of Travis. Sam tried talking to the guy again, but in the end, he torches him to save Dean.
Here’s my question. Where were the car keys? I mean, I know how hard it is to put my hands on my keys on just a normal day, but if I was being chased by a crazy monster, I’d think it would be even harder. She didn’t have her purse on her or anything. Were the keys in her pocket? In the car already?
See, I think too much.
