Stylista, Five Becomes Four
This week on Stylista, they start out with Johanna saying that Kate should have gone home. She thought she would get rewarded for working well with Kate, a difficult person, instead, she was in the bottom two.
This week they have to set up a hotel room for super model, Maggie Rizer. They have a list to follow of all the things she requires and they have two hours and $300 to get it all done. Anne and Maggie then tour the rooms. Can I just say right now that I would not want to have to deal with this? They were very critical of every little thing. These people are just so haughty. Its like they expect people to bow down for them or something.
DyShaun won the challenge, but I didn’t think he would since he forgot the dog photo frames. I think the only reason Kate didn’t win was because she unwrapped al the food, as did all the other girls, making it easily accessible to the dogs (two lovely big Golden Retrievers).
Next, they are setting up a photo shoot, including styling the model. One team is Kate and Ashlie, and the other team is DyShaun, Megan and Johanna. For once, Kate and Ashlie seemed to work well together. They really did a lot of fun stuff in the photo shoot, much better than the other team, that really just played it safe.
DyShaun was really saying a lot of rude, nasty things to Kate, who was ready to walk out and go home over it. That was surprising, really, because she seemed to be handling it alright while it was happening. Ashlie really stands up for Kate, and there is a little drama over it all at the house, but then it seems like its all over.
Kate and Ashlie said they were inspired by the 80’s, showing basic black and then color in each picture. The judges think they did a good job thinking out of the box and taking a chance. That they came up with a concept and did great with the hair and makeup, but also that they probably used too many pictures on the page.
For the other team, Johanna explains that DyShaun came up with the title Light Bright and that they wanted bright colors and some other stuff that I didn’t follow well. The judges liked the layout, but wished they had had the model moving around more and hadn’t played it so safe. Once again, Kate decides to tell on the other team, that they didn’t spend any time with the hair and makeup after the first few minutes, and if this was about styling, they didn’t do any styling. She should keep her mouth shut. They ask Ashlie what she things, and she says she wants to be professional. Kate says she doesn’t care as much about being professional as she does about just saying what really happened. You’d think the judges would understand that Kate is a real troublemaker, but they seem to keep rewarding her for her bad behaviors.
DyShaun’s team did win the challenge, so that Kate and Ashlie got called into the eliminations. Anne tells Kate that her outburst came across as petty and unprofessional (finally!!) and Ashlie that she didn’t show good judgment as an editor.
But thankfully, Ashlie stays and Kate goes. Kate thanks them and says how much fun she had, but not before she tells the judges that DyShaun is abusive, Megan is wicked and dishonest, and Johanna is insecure.
Of course, everyone was happy to see Ashlie stay and Kate go, but it also seemed like Kate was really happy to leave.
