Smallville Memories

by

Maybe its because I haven’t watched Smallville from the beginning. Perhaps its that I’ve missed an episode here and there, even for the seasons I have watched. But I just don’t get it.

Like this week, Chloe starts losing her memory like a computer, erasing things and people out of her mind. Supposedly, this is something caused by Brainiac, but I don’t know how or why, exactly. I don’t get Brainiac’s involvement in all this, either, with Chloe, cause I guess I missed that, too. I thought I had seen every ep with Brainiac - the only reason I ever watched a single ep of Smallville in the first place is cause of James Marsters - but apparently, I missed some.

And I wonder, what purpose does it serve to have Chloe not remember about Clark’s abilities? He has needed her help so often and now he won’t be able to call on her. And why is it that all women who don’t know Clark has powers think he’s just a huge wimp?? Chloe did that thing that Lois always does, she treats Clark - who by the way is a really big guy (Tom Welling is well over 6 foot) - like he can’t pick up a toothpick without assistance. But back to the powers issue, how does it help to move the story along, after all this time, to remove her memories. I mean, what if they want to go back to something later on and now they will have to be careful about what they do, since a lot of what has happened over the years was between Clark and Chloe and her memories of those things will all be different. It just seems like a crazy, pointless thing to do for the overall series.

But again, I’ve missed a lot, so maybe there’s something about to happen that will change everything anyway.

I do think I must have missed something that happened between Chloe and Davis in one of those episodes, though, since he seems to be in love with her. I thought that Davis was pulling some mind mojo on her to make Chloe remember only him, but then he left her with Jimmy, and then he turned around and told her he wanted her with him.

See, I don’t get it.

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
