Hulu Awards: Best Cooking/Food Show

by

We’re coming back to the Hulu Awards. Remember, I’m on the panel and voting for all these shows. I put some of the polls on my other blog, as well, watchingsitcoms.com.

I’m a fan of food shows. I love to eat and I love to cook, so I watch them and get great ideas on interesting meals to make, and ways to make the foods I cook easier and faster. So, all that being said, I’ve seen all the shows in the finals of this category at least once or twice. Most of them I’ve watched regularly.

The nominees are 30 Minute Meals, Ace of Cakes, Good Eats, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Top Chef.

Probably my fave is 30 Minute Meals. I’d say its mostly cause it gives me lots of great ideas for cooking quick and different meals. But I also love Alton Brown on Good Eats. He’s just so much fun and he’s able to boil a complex process down to simple steps. Pun intended.

I’m not even sure I think the other shows fit into the same category as those two. I mean, really, are Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and Top Chef cooking shows? As for Ace of Cakes, honestly, I’ve only seen it a couple of times, but it seems almost more like its a crafty show. Um, I mean, it doesn’t teach you how to bake a cake, it shows you how they create really interesting cakes for special events.

Bottom line, they are all great shows. So vote early and vote often. Here’s the poll:

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
