Hulu Awards: Best Competitive Reality Show
Next we have some nominations for reality shows in the Hulu Awards. First up is the Best Competitive Reality Show. The nominees are The Biggest Loser, Hell’s Kitchen, Last Comic Standing, Project Runway, Top Chef and Make Me A Supermodel.
I’ve actually watched every single one of those shows, except Make Me A Supermodel, at one point or another. I like them all. Which is strange, actually, because I’ve never really thought of myself as a reality TV kind of person. But in my defense, I would probably say that these competitive reality shows maybe have a little more going on than some others, over all. Some reality shows I’ve glimpsed in my channel surfing seem to be more like big parties for the beautiful and shapely. Hell’s Kitchen is not that. Neither is Top Chef , The Biggest Loser or Last Comic Standing. For that matter, neither is Project Runway. I mean, the models are beautiful, but some of those designers are really scary looking. Sometimes I find myself wondering just why would I want to buy what they are selling when they look the way they do. Maybe I’m just not high fashion enough. (That was sarcasm, in case you missed it. Well, I’m certainly not high fashion, but I mean why would I need to be??)
Anyway, I think any one of those shows would be a good call for Best Competitive Reality Show. The vote was made easier for me, though, by the fact that as much as I like most of them, the only of those shows where I’ve seen every episode is Hell’s Kitchen.
Here’s the poll:
