Hidden Palms: The end?

by Leah

Hats off to the Powers That Be as they managed to trick me into thinking that they had copped out on the conclusion to Eddie’s death AND left the door open for a possible sequel (but not enough for us to be too bummed out if they don’t).

First off Eddie’s laptop is the smoking gun, Greta is the key (though not in the way we’d imagined) and I am amazed that Johnny was able to do anything given the amount of time he spent making out with Greta.

Just to recap on the B-story lines. Nicki is channeling Rachel from the early seasons of Friends and is trying to cut it as a waitress whilst rebuffing Cliff’s advances. Bob and Karen are still bickering over nothing, and in a complete U-turn Johnny counsels his mom to stay with Bob. Let’s just say that both couples make up.

Skip and Maria (Eddie’s Mom) are lurking in corners, deflecting any questions regarding Eddie or each other, and acting suspicious. Johnny manages to connect to Maria, and explains why getting to the bottom of Eddie’s suicide is so important. Skip takes it up a notch and starts getting mean and nasty with Maria (he does not take too kindly to being blackmailed), and we learn that they were once an item.

After an abortive attempt by Cliff to gain the smoking laptop (as a way of currying favor with Nicki via Johnny) Liza decides to break in. It is dark, and she stumbles over something (or someone). It is Eddie’s mom! She has left a suicide note that she was unable to live with her part in Eddie’s death. At this point I was not best pleased and was screaming “That can’t be it!!!” and thankfully it wasn’t. After much slow motion hugging (and Skip creeping off with the laptop) Johnny returns home to discover an email from Maria.

OMG. Eddie accuses his Mom and Skip of killing Greta’s mother. Eddie has a gun, there is a struggle with Skip and the gun goes off.

Any other thoughts on Hidden Palms lurking in cyberspace?

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
