Bowling with Models

by Toni

This week on America’s Next Top Model, they started out showing us Elina’s photo from last week up on the screen. I’m wondering of the phrase “racially ambiguous” is really a compliment. Clearly, “unique” and “stunningly beautiful” are.

The girls then head to Lucky Strike bowling alley (which, coincidentally, is the same bowling alley they went to on 90210 a couple of weeks ago) and they have to walk down the lanes in high heel bowling shoes for Miss Jay. Yikes!! The only one I noticed slipping was Isis. I would have been falling all over the place, cause I’m so klutzy.

They then go on to their runway challenge and model the designs of Jeremy Scott. They are in an art deco looking bank and he told them they would be cat burglars. Then Miss Jay tells them they will be blindfolded! Then Mr. J tells them that one of them will be leaving after the challenge, not even going into the panel. Has that ever happened before?

Elina and Analeigh both looked good, Samantha was too swingy and then she lifted up the dress. Sheena looked a little hoochie, and Clark kinda looked awkward. Lauren Brie looked OK up until whatever that move was she did when she posed at the end of the runway. Marjorie was just walking. Joslyn looked cool, Hannah was clearly nervous. Isis looked good. McKey was just OK. The challenge winner was Joslyn. She thanked Jesus. Then they called one person who was going to leave and that was Hannah. Wow! I didn’t see that coming. I really liked her and I would have rather someone else left. Oh well. I am glad Joslyn won.

Joslyn chose Sheena and Isis to go with her on her challenge win. They are modeling clothing from a 15 year old Russian designer whose name I never caught.

Mr. J shows up and wakes them at 8:39 am. I’d have been up for hours already. Anyway, he tells them the photo shoot is taking place at their house. They are going to be in the pool and be shot from the eyes up. Nigel Barker is the photographer and they are all excited. I thought it was a little weird, watching the shoot, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the pictures ended up.

Looking at the pics, Sheena looked good, Joslyn was pretty good, but I liked it better than they did. Marjorie was a little weird, Lauren Brie looked good. Isis did not do a good pic, her eyes looked sleepy. Clark looked good, too. McKey was OK. Elina was just eh. Analeigh looked really good. Samantha was interesting.

I’m just not sure who I’d lose this week. Maybe Samantha, although she did take a good pic.

After deliberations, they were called in this order: Clark, Analeigh, Lauren Brie, Sheena, McKey, Marjorie, Joslyn, Elina. So the bottom two are Isis and Samantha.

Tyra tells them - Isis you stood out in the background last year, but this year you are afraid to stand out; Samantha you take beautiful pictures, but the designer was insulted by how you modeled his clothes.

But Samantha stays and Isis goes. I’m really sad, cause I liked her.

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
