ANTM Goes to Amsterdam

by

Finally, I get to watch America’s Next Top Model when it’s on and can write my notes online as I watch, instead of taking all the notes long hand while I watch on the computer and then trying to decipher what I wrote!! Yay for having the CW back on my TV!

The show this week starts out with the remaining girls flying to Amsterdam. They are met at the airport by someone who speaks to them in Danish (maybe . . .), and who, it turns out, is the host of Top Model in Holland, Daphe Deckers. She teams them up and gives them a list of tasks to complete and then meet up at the house. The teams are Analeigh and Marjorie, McKey and Sheena, Samantha and Elina.

Elina spends time whining that her sandals are hurting her feet. I say, she should have been traveling in sneakers or something. In any case, Samantha and Elina are first to the house and get 50 extra frames on the photo shoot. Analeigh and Marjorie are second.

Once everyone is back, McKey, Samantha and Samantha just was to sleep for a while, but Elina, Marjorie and Analeigh all have a bath together. It did look a little weird. The girls walk through the red light district, where prostitution is legal. Elina, of course, has no problem with that. Tell me, why do I care what this annoying teenager thinks and why do they feel like they have to let her express her opinion? She’s really getting more and more obnoxious. Especially how she was saying that Holland was reminding her of Ukraine. I know people from Ukraine, it’s very rural. Maybe there are cities like Amsterdam there, but I doubt they are as updated and cosmopolitan. But whatever. I’m just letting her bother me.

The girls are teamed up again for the challenge. They will be sitting in windows, like the prostitutes do, but to sell the clothing, instead of themselves. The teams are McKey and Analeigh, Elina and Samantha, Sheena and Marjorie. The winner gets to go to International Fashion Week. The winners were McKey and Samantha. They really did both do pretty well, although I didn’t think anyone was that bad. Well, Analeigh did get stuck in the window decorations.

The photo shoot is on a boat and, according to Jay, in old fashioned clothing with a modern twist. It didn’t look that old fashioned to me, but what do I know. They honestly all looked pretty good, but from what they showed of Sheena, she didn’t do too well.

In panel, we get to see the pics and I thought the good ones were Elina, Analeigh, McKey and Samantha. Sheena and Marjorie were just sorta OK. At this point, if I had to guess, I’d say Sheena is going home. Or possibly Elina, just cause she’s so annoying.

Eliminations - the girls are called in this order: McKey, Analeigh, Marjorie, Samantha. The bottom two are Elina and Sheena, so I guess I called it. Tyra tells them Elina you take pretty pictures but the judges don’t see a model and she is too stiff, Sheena is the opposite, lots of personality, but some of her photos aren’t too good.

Going home this week: Sheena. Which means that Elina stays. Darn.

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
