Annie’s Super Sweet 16 Karaoke Party

by

Tuesday night’s 90210 was Annie’s sweet 16 birthday party. But not everyone was happy. You’ll recall that last week Naomi saw Annie and Ethan kissing at school. Well, Naomi decides to get even. Pretending that she doesn’t know anything about it, she takes Annie out to buy a dress for her party. Then she surprises Annie by bringing Jason, her ex from Kansas, to LA to be at her party. Naomi has also planned a pre-party dinner the day before Annie’s birthday for her, Ethan, Annie, Jason, Silver and Dixon. Its very uncomfortable and Annie and Ethan try to talk together separately, but Naomi keeps butting in and asking Jason all sorts of embarrassing questions. That night before bed, Jason admits that he still thinks about Annie and still has feelings for her. He even kisses her. But Annie tells him that she has moved on and doesn’t care for him like that any longer.

The day of Annie’s birthday, at school, Annie and Ethan fight because now he wants to tell Naomi the truth, but she wants to hold off until after Jason goes back home, because she would rather tell him over the phone. Annie then tells Ethan about Jason kissing her and Ethan gets very angry.

Kelly is back from seeing Dylan, who still has commitment issues. Silver tells her about Ryan and Kimberly, and Kelly confronts Ryan who won’t talk to her. Kimberly, meanwhile, is pushing the case forward so that she can get an arrest and clear Ryan. Kelly has Kimberly meet with her and asks her if Ryan was inappropriate or if she just has a crush on him, but Kimberly tells Kelly that she doesn’t know anything about it and that Kelly should leave her alone.

Adrianna is trying to get close to Navid, but he keeps pushing her away. Finally, she shows up at his door and he seems very uncomfortable about letting her inside. At first, she thinks he has someone else there, which he does. His baby sister! Adrianna ends up staying for dinner with his big family, who welcome her with open arms, and are very outspoken, even about the fact that they paid for her rehab. That could have been uncomfortable, but they are so friendly and warm towards her, it wasn’t at all upsetting to anyone. Finally, Navid admits that the reason he has been keeping her at arms length is that he is a virgin and he was afraid that she wants or needs something more than that. Adrianna assures him that he is fine the way he is and he is what she wants.

At Annie’s party, they are all singing karaoke and having a great time. Ethan hasn’t shown up yet, though, and Annie goes to sit outside and get some air. Ethan shows up and apologizes, they both agree to tell Naomi and Jason right away and then they kiss and make up. Naomi sees them through the window and calls Jason over to see them. Annie and Ethan go in to the house to find Naomi and Jason and tell them the truth and they find them together in a bedroom, making out. When they confront Naomi, she admits that she has known and set up the whole thing with Jason to punish Annie. Annie runs off, Jason follows her and Ethan tells off Naomi.

Kimberly makes the arrest and goes to see Ryan. Kelly is already there, she has now been told about Kimberly, and is trying to make up with Ryan, but he is still upset and planning to go away for a while. It mostly upsets him that the kids he thought all liked him so easily believed that he did something wrong. Kimberly shows up and Kelly leaves.

Back at the party, it is cake time, but Annie isn’t ready. First she pulls Naomi outside and tells her off. Naomi starts going on and on about how her whole life has fallen apart since Annie came to LA, and Annie tells her its just that Naomi has been lying to herself for a long time and Annie is always truthful to her. Annie points out that the only reason she didn’t tell her about Ethan right away was to spare her pain, but that Naomi did all that she did to cause pain.

Right in the middle of their fight a young man shows up and introduces himself as Sean, the son of Harry and Tracy. They stare.

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
