A 90210 Valentine

by

90210It’s Valentine’s Day on 90210. The ep opens with Naomi living in her amazingly swanky hotel and being waited on hand and foot by all the staff. There is a new guy working at the coffee bar, and she watches him put a loud drunk with an I’m-Important compex, in his place.

Silver is stressing about what to do that will make for a special valentine for Dixon. She’s a little weird to watch now, cause she’s acting all lovey dovey and ooey gooey. Silver overhears Naomi saying how amazing the food is at the restaurant in her hotel and decides that is where she and Dixon should go to eat. The place is completely booked and Silver tries everything, including bribes to get a table. When she finds out that hotel guests can get a table, she approaches Naomi. At first Naomi doesn’t want to help her, but when Silver tells Naomi that she is in love, Naomi gets her the table.

Naomi and Silver go to the bar to have a drink and the cute coffee bar guy is there. Naomi asks his name - its Liam. He’s just moved to LA and they find out he doens’t have a girlfriend. Silver talks in this weird Cockney accent, cause she says it makes you sound older.

Annie and Ethan are having troubles since Ethan is still punishing himself for Rhonda’s accident and is busy carrying her books around to class. Annie doesn’t like it. But even more, it’s like Ethan just doesn’t connect with her anymore. Also, Annie is striking out in her acting class, because she can’t seem to deliver the pain and emotion that the teacher is asking for.

Rhonda also starts to feel guilty and confesses to Ethan that she’s been pretending that her injuries were worse than they really are to keep him around. Now, if he was smart, he’d dump the psycho right there, but men are pretty stupid and so he says they are still friends and they like each other. He also says they have to be honest with each other from then on. Then Rhonda shares a terrible story about her past with Annie and Ethan. Apparenty, some mean girls humilated her at a school dance. She was asked to the dance by a guy she had a huge crush on, but finds out when she shows up for the dance that the mean girls had dared him to ask her. She went home and tried to kill herself. Annie and Ethan feel really badly about it, but Annie looks even more unhappy that Ethan covers Rhonda’s hand with his.

Navid gets caught by Adrianna saying bad stuff about her. It seems obvious that he was just saying that cause he was in front of the guys and with his new girlfriend. But then Adrianna gets a valentine rose from the faculty and its really depressing for her. Navid tries to apologise to Adrianna later, and they have a nice little chat in the chocolate shop. Adrianna tells him how happy she is that he has found someone so he can be happy, go to dances and be normal.

Meanwhile, Naomi helps Silver dress for dinner and Silver talks her into asking Liam out for a date. She tells Naomi to send him a bottle of champagne to his home with a note asking him to meet her by the pool. She waits for him, but he doesn’t show.

Annie has another chance to show her acting chops in class, but since she still doesn’t have anything painful to share, she tells them Rhonda’s story, acting like it is her own. It goes over well in class, but then Ethan sees her and gets very angry that she shared a story told to her in confidence. Personally, I think since it was an acting class and she didn’t say it was someone else’s story, I don’t get his issue. So Ethan goes to the dance and Annie stays home and cries.

One small thing upsets Silver and Dixon’s perfect dinner, the dessert she thought she ordered ahead of time wasn’t ordered and now they are all out. Dixon finally calms her down by saying that dessert won’t make the meal perfect, being together is what makes it perfect. He then gives her a beautiful silver bracelet with her name engraved on it. Silver suggests that they get a room.

Rhonda shows up at the dance and dances with the all alone Ethan, who is not taking Annie’s calls. Ethan walks Rhonda to her car and when she goes to kiss him, he starts to kiss her back, but then backs off and says he has a girlfriend and that he and Rhonda are just friends. She tells him to be honest with himself, he looked at her like “that.” He admits that he was, but it was wrong.

Adrianna is home in bed, her face covered in chocolate, when Navid comes over to see her. He tells her what a mess she is, a former drug addict, pregnant and chocolate smeared all over her. But he couldn’t care less. Then he asks her to be his valentine and kisses her when she says yes. (Ahhhhhh.)

The next day at school, Dixon and Silver are still fooling around when she shows him the tatoo she got of his name on her stomach. She says she wanted to get something permanent to symbolize their love. Dixon looks a little worried. Ethan looks at the two women in his life who are both upset and hurt by him right now. Lastly, Harry introduces a new kid into Naomi’s class - it’s Liam. Turns out he is only in high school and his mom got the note with the champagne that she sent and realized that he wasn’t enrolled. He is now and he’s not too happy with Naomi. (One question. What ever happened to Ozzy? I liked him.)

This was the last ew eps for a while. The next one will be on March 31.

  1. Sheanette Says:

I think that Ronda is playing with Ethan emotions and is a liar. She is just trying to gain he love through a made up story.Ethan is stupid for taking her side over Annie’s.Ethan is really getting on my nerves always talking about how the accident has changed him, WHAT A JOKE. And Ronda’s just playing off it.

  2. Toni Says:

Hi Sheanette! Thanks for your comment. I totally agree. Ethan is behaving like an idiot. He’s hurting Annie, and he’s letting Rhonda play him. He should wake up and realize that he’s going to lose.

  3. Lauren Says:

Toni and Sheanette, I’m so glad I’m not the only one that was thinking those things!! I felt terrible for about a minute to think bad things about Rhonda after the accident, but it hit me that she was nothing but a liar. Granted, it wasn’t right of Annie to use the story but she was under a lot of pressure, she looked like she was about to cry most of the time. Then again, the story more than likely probably isn’t true.

  4. Toni Says:

Lauren, I was thinking the exact same thing. That she probably made up the story to tell Ethan to keep his sympathy.

  5. ADA Says:

I think so too:) annie/ethan for life.

About Watching The CW

The CW was born in September 2006, and inherited a mixture of programming from its parents the WB and UPN. The CW has a diverse line up from Monday night comedy to Friday Night Smackdown. In between the laughs and the wrestling are alternate reality or fantasy based shows (Supernatural, Smallville), ones that are fit to bursting with bright young things (Veronica Mars, One Tree Hill) and don't forget all the wannabes trying to make it in reality programming (The Beauty & the Geek, America's Next Top Model, Pussy Cat Dolls). This blog will review, recap, share spoilers and other cool finds related to the CW's programming.
